Beijing Opening
Open, collaborative environment showcases floor covering offering, enhances company’s relationships with customers in China

BEIJING, July, 2012 – As a major global supplier of floor covering solutions, Milliken recently opened a design studio and showroom in Beijing, which will serve as a resource for designers, end users and sales associates in the area.
With an office presence in Beijing for more than 10 years, the design studio is the next step in continuing the company’s expansion in China.

The new showroom is located in Beijing Oriental Plaza – a landmark building located in the Wangfujing area near Tiananmen Square – at No. 1 East Chang An Ave., Dongcheng District.

“Milliken is committed to supporting China's growing commercial real estate market and increased appetite for inspiring and innovative interior furnishings,” said David Moody, president of Milliken’s global floor covering division. “This new space allows us to provide convenient and superior customer service to our partners in Beijing and surrounding areas, while ensuring continued progress in a rapidly expanding, dynamic economy.”

Parallel with the design objectives consistent across all of Milliken’s studios worldwide, the space serves as an open and collaborative environment to showcase Milliken’s extensive product offering, as well as support for client meetings.  The vision was brought to life by M Moser, a global firm specializing in workspace strategy and design.

Functional, aesthetic and inspiring features include:
• A neutral backdrop to highlight a variety of colors and patterns featured in floor covering collections.
• Classic modern furnishings, rich textiles and clean, crisp material accents.
• Flexible display area complemented by a large window seat that doubles as storage space.
• Formal and informal meeting areas.

“The Beijing studio and showroom stresses Milliken’s client-forward way of thinking,” said Barbara Haaksma, vice president of design and marketing for Milliken’s global floor covering division.  “By offering an engaging environment, our associates can create interior spaces that reflect our customers’ needs, while staying true to their unique values and culture.”

Milliken sales teams representing the brand’s chemical business and flexible fabric innerduct (MaxCell) business will also use the space as needed.
