​Fall for inspiration in the upcoming season

Earlier this summer, we noticed the world was celebrating spectacular outdoor architecture and design with great international festivals. We’re excited that these global industry events will be continuing throughout the year. For those of you traveling the world into the fall season, be sure to include these inspiring design events in your travel plans! 

London Design Festival: September 14 to 23


London doesn’t want to give up the spotlight as it transitions from Olympics’ excitement to the 10th anniversary celebration of one of the world’s most important design events. Comprised of over 300 events and exhibitions staged by hundreds of partner organizations across the design spectrum and around the world, the London Design Festival​ showcases the city’s pivotal role in global design. The 10-day festival features an array of exhibitions, trade events, installations, seminars, product launches, private views, parties and more. 

Vertical Urban Factory: September 13 to December 16


As part of a special exhibition at Design Exchange, Canada’s Design Museum, curator and architectural historian Nina Rappaport presents an examination of the progression of factory design. Surveying historical and contemporary factories around the world, Vertical Urban Factory highlights innovative architecture and designs of significant factory buildings from the early 20th century and beyond. Explore how factories have breathed new life into historical urban environments and continue to spur innovation in the present day. 

Field Conditions: September 1 to January 6


Field Conditions is a contemporary exhibit at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art that invites innovators to imagine designs beyond the frame. With a variety of contributing architects and artists – including Thom Faulders and Daniel Libeskind – the exhibit realizes innovative sketches that explore the intersection of art and architecture through the concept of fields. Visit the exhibit to witness creative minds push the boundaries of the construction, experience and representation of space. 

Feria Hábitat Valencia: September 18 to 22


As the only international Spanish trade show that encompasses the entire product offering for interiors, the Feria Hábitat Valencia seeks to create trends and generate innovation for the architecture and design industry. With 800 exhibitors from more than 100 countries, the fair features international design with a range of perspectives and styles. Enjoy!
